Pixies return to Ryman

Folks who caught the Pixies at the Ryman in 2004 likely left with a burst of energy and a new, far more positive impression of the term “reunion tour.”

Good, related news: Fans have another chance to catch the Pixies at the Mother Church, when the reconvened rock mainstays come back through Nashville on The Doolittle Tour, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the revered Doolittle album. That set includes some of the band’s best-loved songs, including “Wave of Mutilation,” “Debaser” and “Here Comes Your Man,” and Ryman-goers can expect a run through all of Doolittle’s album tracks and a cache of B-sides.

The 11-city September jaunt hits the Ryman on September 10, and tickets for that show are set to go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 19 via the Ryman Box Office, Ryman.com, Ticketmaster locations, Ticketmaster.com or by calling 1–800-745-3000. A fan-only ticket presale is available at www.pixiesmusic.com, with seats running $66; it ends at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 11.

Pixies add second Ryman show

The Pixies will be spending a weekend at the Ryman. The indie rock icons have added a second show at the venue on Saturday, September 11 in addition to their previously announced September 10 Ryman gig.

If you haven’t scooped up tickets yet, we recommend doing so now. Not only will you get to see one of the best bands of the last few decades, you also have a shot at getting better seats than the folks who spent last Saturday morning hitting “refresh” on their browsers.

Tickets are $47.50 and $54.50 and available through Ticketmaster.
